Chapter 13- Boss

I stood in the doorway of K’Yonnah’s bedroom, watching her sleep. She looked just like the angel she was. I looked at her and I couldn’t help but feel fucked up for how I’ve treated her. From the jump, I’ve always known that she loved a nigga. Just like I’ve always loved her. When she went away, I felt like it was the end of whatever we had. Technically, we never got a chance to get in a relationship. It’s like she came home and Meesh was here, but she wasn’t. Not to be misconstrued because I did love Meesh; it’s just that I loved K’Yonnah more. I made a vow before God, so there was no way I could just leave my wife. I was obligated to her. No matter what transpired between K’Yonnah and me, I would never want Meesh dead. Her death had fucked me up in the head. I think the thing that fucked me up the most was the fact that I wasn’t there when she needed me the most. Shit just went blank for me when she died. Guilt will make you lose your fucking mind. I now know what the fuck depression feels like. It had me so fucked up that I couldn’t even bring myself to go and see my fucking daughter. I’m a thorough ass nigga and my actions with my children had me looking weak ass fuck. My mother, Kartier, and even Shannie had been trying to get me out of my funk, but I wasn’t budging. It’s funny how the one person I was trying to block from my life had the power to give me back the life I so needed. I’ll ask for God’s forgiveness for all the days of my life, but I’m not sorry for loving K’Yonnah. Truthfully, I missed the fuck out of her and I hadn’t had a good night’s sleep since that night I spent with her. I knew for a fact she wasn’t fucking with me, but I needed her to make me better. I removed my shoes and climbed into bed with her. She was so out of it that she didn’t even feel me in bed with her. I laid my head on her chest and drifted off to sleep, not caring if she would wake up and curse me out. Right about now, she was feeling like the softest place on Earth.

The next morning, I woke up in K’Yonnah’s bed in nothing but my boxers and underneath the covers. I looked over and K’Yonnah was no longer in bed. The smell of food cooking permeated the air and my stomach began to growl. I could go for some food because I had basically been living off of Tequila and Kush. Just the thought of the shit made me sick to my stomach.

I sat up in bed and sitting at the foot was a new toothbrush and some clean clothes. That piqued my interest because I didn’t even bring clothes with me.
